In Episode 33, “Securely Passing the Faith Baton,” Kim talks about the importance of passing on an active faith in Christ from generation to generation. Just how do we accomplish this?
Sadly, we see in today’s text of Judges 2:1-15, we see the baton was not securely passed from Joshua and the other leaders of Israel to the next generation.
Note verses 7 & 10—
7 And the Israelites served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and the leaders who outlived him—those who had seen all the great things the Lord had done for Israel.
10 After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.
Where was the baton dropped? Was in dropped on the handoff or was it dropped after it was securely in the hands of the next generation? No matter which, we still see the next leg of the race run off track.
