Ep. 235: He Didn’t See the Backstab Coming

SHOW NOTES:

In Podcast Episode 235, “He Didn’t See the Backstab Coming,” Kim discusses the life of one of King David’s Thirty Mighty Warriors, Uriah the Hittite. Sadly, instead of being most remembered for his brave and heroic acts on behalf of the king and God’s people Israel, he is remembered one mortally betrayed by authority.

Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Samuel 23:24-39 and 1 Kings 15:5 with the focal verses of 39a and 5:

8 These are the names of David’s mightiest warriors….

39 Uriah the Hittite.

5 For David had done what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight and had obeyed the Lord’s commands throughout his life, except in the affair concerning Uriah the Hittite.

Uriah might be more accurately transliterated from Hebrew as “Uwriyah.” It roughly means “Yah (God) is light” or “Yahweh is my light.” (Crosswalk.com)
